Keys Win Big Against Mudcats

A six-run first inning lead the Keys to a 12-2 victory over the Carolina Mudcats last night. Allan de San Miguel went 2-for-4 with four RBI’s including a two-run bomb to left field in the bottom of the eighth.

Second baseman, Jerome Pena, finished the game with three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.  Tim Berry gave up just one run and six hits in five innings pitched and left the game with an 8-1 lead.

*Keys Manager, Ryan Minor, discusses Christian Walker’s recent success and promotion to Double-A Bowie with our very own Tim Murray.

*Matt Hobgood has been moved up to Frederick from Class-A Delmarva. The former Shorebirds pitcher is 7-2 as a reliever this season in 23 game appearances with a 3.64 ERA.

The Keys have the day off today to sit back and enjoy tonight’s MLB All-Star Game.  Frederick takes on Salem in a four game series at home starting tomorrow night at 7pm.
