Four Games At The Grove

The Keys return to Harry Grove Stadium after a seven game road trip against Lynchburg and Wilmington.  Frederick took two-of-three from the Lynchburg Hillcats however the Blue Rocks of Wilmington took three games of the four game set.

Trent Howard starts this morning for the Keys, looking to stop their three-game losing streak.

*The Keys face the Carolina Mudcats in a four game series starting tonight with Trent Howard on the mound.  The seventh round pick in 2011 out of Central Michigan University has started only six games this season but has worked mostly out of the bullpen. Howard is 3-0 as a reliever with a 0.62 ERA in 13 appearances.  He has yet to factor into a decision as a started in six games.

*Christian Walker is the man to watch in tonight’s game. He was the Carolina League’s Player of The Week and was invited to play in the All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 14 with teammates Eduardo Rodriguez and Henry Urrutia in representing the Orioles’ organization. Walker sat down with Adam Pohl last week to discuss his recent success.

*We would like to wish a VERY happy birthday to two of our very own Frederick Keys, Jesse Beal turning 23 and Nicky Delmonico will be celebrating his 21st here at Harry Grove Stadium!


*Former Key, Aaron Baker jacked up two three-run homers for Double-A Bowie last night in their 10-1 win over Richmond. Check out the video link below.


*Over the long road trip, Delvi Cid was transferred from Double-A Bowie. Outfielder Tucker Nathans and lefty Ashur Tolliver were brought up from Class-A Delmarva.  Luc Rennie and Anthony Caronia were both sent down to Delmarva and David Walters was released.
