Wilmington Comes To The Grove
The Frederick Keys just finished out a three game series against the Winston-Salem Dash after an 8-2 loss last night. The Dash took two of three from the Keys this past weekend.
Tonight the Keys welcome the Wilmington Blue Rocks for the first of a three game series but before we get into tonight’s matchup, let’s talk about last night’s game.
*Despite a lack of offensive production, Nicky Delmonico hit his thirteenth home run off of Winston-Salem’s started, Christopher Beck, in the bottom of the sixth inning.
*Luc Rennie started last night’s game for the Keys after being called up from short-season-A-Aberdeen just two games prior to the game. The 19-year old righty gave up four runs (three earned) in four innings pitched. After last night’s loss, Rennie is now 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA.
*Despite going 0-for-4 in last night’s game, Keys catcher Michael Ohlman was awarded Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. During the week of June 24-30, he batted .407 with five doubles, a three-run walk-off home run, eight RBIs and three runs scored.
